The Dancer - Detail

A figure familiar to all at the St. Louis Art Museum. Nikon D100, ISO 800, 80mm, f/4.0, 1/50 s. Color temp and contrast adjusted in Lightroom.

Lamp at Pizza Parlor

Nikon D100, ISO 200, 50mm, f/5.6, 1/45s. This is an experiment with Lightroom split toning. The chrome is a grayscale conversion, the lightbulb a cream tone. I think it looks more natural than the mixed color temp original.

Flowers & Window

You guys are making me look bad so i thought i better post some pics. This is in Linnean house shot with the 105mm at 3.2 - 1/800 on a tripod.

Wiegand's Deidre and Maura, Missouri Botanical Garden

Early Tulip

Grab shot at MoBot; not sure if I like the lens flare, but couldn't pass it up. Nikon D100, ISO 200, Macro-mode, 70mm, f/4.0, 1/1250 sec.

Emmenegger Flooding - comparison shots

The top shot is of Emmenegger Park on Thursday afternoon, the bottom image is from Sunday afternoon. I wasn't able to stand in the same place because the water was so high, but you can still see how much higher the water went. The building's roof was pretty torn up Sunday and the water had been even higher Saturday morning.

Easter Tulips

ISO 800 isn't the best thing to use (unless, apparently, you get the most recent Nikon!), but I didn't feel like getting the tripod out and there was a slight breeze. I used a Tamron 90 mm macros lens on my Canon Digital Rebel at 1/1250 sec. and f/4.0. I just ordered some extension tubes off of EBay, so be expecting more macros.

Emmenegger Park flooding

Took a walk this afternoon around the Meramec River near highway 44. High water was everywhere, including the parking lot (and beyond) of Emmenegger Park. Canon Digital Rebel, ISO 400, f4.0, 1/200 sec. using Canon's 50 mm f1/8 lens.

Train going by

I stood on the bridge overlooking the Kirkwood Train Station and took this picture - a train just happened to go by at that time. Canon Digital Rebel, ISO 100, Tamron 28-75 mm lens at 75 mm, f/3.5, 1.3 sec.

Arch on a Gray Day

Not much greenery downtown this afternoon, but that's ok with black and white. Computer crashed or I would have tried to fix the perspective of the building on the left ... this was taken at 10 mm with Canon's 10-22 mm wide angle lens. Specs: ISO 100, f7.1, 1/125 sec. with a Canon Digital Rebel.

Red Sky at Sunset

View from my back yard, just after sunset. Nikon D100, ISO 200, 85mm, f/5.6, 1/80, tripod. I must update the copyright year in Lightroom!

Green leaf at the Garden

Taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Tech stuff: ISO 400, f/2.8, 1/1000 sec. at 71 mm using my Tamron 28-75 lens.

Fallen Tree, Lohmeyer Park

Reminds me of Japan, where the snow falls and sticks in relatively warm weather. Note the creek is still flowing. Handheld, Nikon D-100, Nikkor 24-85 mm f/2.8-4 at 45mm, f/8.0, 1/60 s.
