Slightly Ravaged Flower

This is the last picture I took Saturday at MoBot. In spite of being in deep shade, the color really popped. Nikon D100, ISO 800, 85mm macro mode, f/4.0, 1/160s

"Blue Velvet" Moment

For a second, I thought: "That's a human ear, alright." Luckily, it is just a magnolia petal. Nikon D100, ISO 200, 62mm - macro mode, f/4.0, 1/2000 sec.

Tulip Profile 2

Another in my series of Tulip profiles, taken with a Canon Digital Rebel and my Tamron 90 mm macro lens.

Day Lily - MoBot

From a visit to the Climatron at Mobot. Nikon D100, ISO 800, 85mm, f/8.0. 1/250s, hand-held macro mode.

Red-headed woodpecker (in black and white)

This is a woodpecker that I saw Sunday in Powder Valley park. I shot it with my Canon 300 mm "L" lens. That's my only L lens and I had forgotten how good it is (this photo doesn't do it complete justice - I either slighty moved the lens or didn't have the focus right).

Tulip Profile

This is another tulip that I planted last fall - it is just about ready to bloom. I took the picture this afternoon (overcast day) and placed a piece of black foamboard about a foot behind it. Canon Digital Rebel and the Tamron 90 mm macro lens, ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/30 sec.

Late Afternoon Clouds

Another shot from my back yard, very late afternoon. Nikon D100, ISO 200, 24mm, f/6.7, 1/160s. The light reminds me of a painting by Dali.

Dean Leaves

Clump of dead leaves in my atrium. Nikon D100, ISO 200, 85mm f/8.0, 1/60s. Converted to antique grayscale in Lightroom.

Graveyard Series - "Savior"

Snapped this at a funeral Saturday morning. As an experiment, I dropped the green and red channels to emphasize the stone texture. Nikon D100 - ISO 200 - 50mm - f/8 - 1/250 processed in LightRoom 1.4.1.
