Candle Holder HDR Test

This test shot turned into a poor man's Lazlo Moholy-Nagy homage.  The candle holder sat in a dark corner of the basement, reflecting bright window light, so HDR got a work-out.  I went on to make a monochrome solarization with a sepia/blue split tone.

After Metropolis #1

I'm not sure where or when we came by a model of the Chrysler building, but here is it.  It is hard for me to not think about Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" when I see it.

Metropolis Torchiere

I snapped this picture of a lamp in my office to test the speed of a Lexar UDMA 300x card with the Nikon D700, which is one of the few cameras that actually supports UDMA.  The buffer definitely clears faster when shooting RAW.  

I liked this shot because it reminds me of opening credits to Metropolis.  Handheld, Nikon D700, ISO 200, Nikkor 180mm, f/2.8 @ 0.7s.  Cropped and converted to Agfa Portriga Rapid tone in Lightroom 2.
